Portageville native is new Assistant Principal in an Italy school

Keisha Morgan, formerly of Portageville, is the daughter of Curtis and Myra Preyer of Portageville.

Naples Elementary School would like to give a warm welcome to our newest Assistant Principal, Mrs. Keisha Morgan. She is a native of Portageville, Mo.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from Central Methodist University in Fayette, Mo. She also holds a Master of Arts in Education degree in Administration and Supervision from University of Phoenix.

This marks Morgan’s seventh year with Department of Defense Education Activity (DODEA). She comes to Naples, Italy from Yokosuka, Japan where she taught Kindergarten for six of those years. Prior to joining DODEA, Morgan taught stateside. She began her teaching career in 1997 as a Title-1 Kindergarten Language Arts Teacher with the Boonville R-1 School District in Missouri.

After three years of successful teaching, she moved to Jacksonville, Fla. and

worked for the Duval County Public Schools where she taught various grade levels. In 2004, she joined Clay County District Schools where she helped with the opening of a brand-new school and taught first grade in Middleburg, Fla. before relocating to Japan.

She has held a number of leadership roles throughout her educational career. Some roles include Admin. Designee, Mentor, Team Leader, and CSI Representative. She will now serve as the new assistant principal at Naples Elementary School in Italy. She is elated to join the administrative team and look forward to working closely with the faculty and staff, parents, students, and greater community of Naples Elementary School.

As an instructional leader, Morgan believes that all children can learn and achieve educational goals when meaningful relationships exist within their school and school-community. She has a genuine love for children and a desire to see them succeed. She is excited now more than ever to inspire, engage, and encourage every student to always do their very best and be the best they can be in school and throughout life!

Morgan is a Navy wife, and is married to a wonderful and

supportive husband. They are looking forward to joining the Naples Community.
