On Saturday, January 7, while conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle,officer's observed a silver GMC van parked on the south side of the Bob's Storage Sheds, located on Highway T South of Portageville.

During the course of the traffic stop investigation, officers learned the two white male individuals had tried breaking to into the storage sheds by cutting a lock on the sheds. A search of the vehicle, incident to arrest, and these items was located. Two glass pipes that field tested positive for the presence of methamphetaine, a set of bolt cutters, and a pad lock that had been cut off of one of the storage units. A search of one suspect revealed 0.26 grams of methamphetaine.

Both suspects were taken into custody and formal charges were filed by New Madrid County Prosecuting Attorney Andrew Lawson. Charged was James Michael Wells of Oran, MO., for possession of burglar's tools (Class E Felony) and possession of any controlled substance except thirty-five grams or less of marijuana or any synthetic cannabinoid (Class D Felony). The second suspect was 24 year old Tyler R. Lowe of Sikeston, MO for possession of of any controlled substance except thirty-five grams or less of marijuana or any synthetic cannabinoid (Class D Felony).
