SD ROUNDUP: Bravettes pick up conference win over Kelly

BENTON, Mo. -- The Scott County Central Bravettes picked up a 79-47 Scott-Mississippi Conference win over Kelly Monday night at Kelly High School.

Breasia Jones led SCC with 22 points and six steals. Samantha Coffee added 20 points, 19 rebounds and three blocks while Trinity Thomas scored 12 and had five steals.

Hailey Kesler scored nine and had eight rebounds, five assists and four blocks for SCC.

The Bravettes (13-11, 5-2 Scott-Mississippi Conference) led by 13 after the first quarter and 42-25 at halftime.

Kelly dropped to 2-4 in the conference and 8-13 overall.

Oran 62, St. Vincent 48

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Sophomore Leah Cauble had another big night with a game-high 31 points as only four Eagles scored in the road win over the Indians.

Freshman Kaylee Payne bucketed 15 points for Oran (21-2), which flew out to an eight-point lead at the break. Sophomore Jessie Long tossed in 13 points as the Eagles outscored the Indians by six points at the end of the second half.

Jackie Verseman scored 12 points while Corin Carroll had 11 points to pace St. Vincent (14-9).

Oran travels to Dexter on Wednesday before hosting conference foe Scott City when it wraps up its regular season on Thursday. The Eagles will return to Perryville on Saturday in the opening round of the Class 2 District 2 Tournament at the Perry Park Center. The Eagles are the top seed and will face the eighth-seeded Rams again at 3 p.m.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Mary Beth Knutson netted 13 points as the Red Devils fell to the Bulldogs on the road.

Kylie Wilhite contributed 10 points for Chaffee (16-8), which trailed by 18 points at halftime and was held to single digits in the second half.

Sam Brennan busted a game-high 27 points and recorded five steals and four rebounds to lead Notre Dame (14-8) to victory. Allie Ziegler tallied 15 points and five steals for the Bulldogs.

Chaffee concludes its regular season on Thursday when it hosts Puxico.
