CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- The Sikeston girls soccer team picked up its third win in a row after a SEMO Conference 2-1 win over Cape Central on the road Tuesday.

Larysa McClellon had one goal and one assist while Kylie Lossing punched in her first career varsity goal. Kayla Curry had another assist for Sikeston, who improved to 7-4 on the season.

The Bulldogs will take part in the Fralish Cup in Carbondale, Ill., starting Friday at 5:30 p.m. against Harrisburg, Ill.

JV -- Sikeston won 1-0 behind a goal from Damya Dunn and assist by Alisha Shell.

__BASEBALL__

__Cape Central 11, NMCC 1__

NEW MADRID, Mo. -- Cape Central's Hunter Hiett had a big day at the plate, blasting a home run, two doubles and driving in two runs to lead the Tigers to their first conference victory of the season in the five-inning road rout of the Eagles.

Drake Mills hurled 4 2/3 innings to get the win on the mound for Cape Central (4-11, 1-5 SEMO Conference). He gave up one earned run on five hits and recorded five strikeouts and one walk.

Nathan Patterson also doubled and added two RBIs for the Tigers.

Palmer Campbell lasted four innings to sustain the pitching loss for New Madrid County Central (6-8, 1-3). He allowed 10 runs (four earned) on 10 hits, walked four batters and had three strikeouts.

NMCC is scheduled for another SEMO Conference battle on Thursday when it hosts Kennett.

__Jackson 16, Dexter 10__

JACKSON, Mo. -- Jackson's Colten Weber doubled twice and batted in four runs as the Indians started strong and held the Bearcats at bay in the final innings to pick up the conference victory at Whitey Herzog Stadium.

Starting pitcher Braedan Dobbs threw the first three innings to get the win for Jackson (16-5, 5-1 SEMO Conference). He gave up no runs on one hit and struck out four batters with two walks.

Jarrett Newell tripled and added two RBIs for the Indians.

Hunter Parrott threw 1/3 of an inning to suffer the loss for Dexter (5-8, 1-5). He allowed five earned runs on three hits, walked two batters and had no strikeouts.

Trevor McDonald recorded a triple, a double and four RBIs to pace the Bearcats, who got two more RBIs from Trenton Willis.

Dexter has another SEMO Conference game today against Poplar Bluff on the road.

STEELE, Mo. -- Kevin Burton blasted a grand slam, a double and drove in four runs as the Bulldogs walloped the Indians in the five-inning conference rout.

Ryan Russell went the distance on the mound to get the win for South Pemiscot (6-6, 4-1 Bootheel Conference). He allowed one unearned run and recorded eight strikeouts and two walks.

Riley Cain also hit a home run and a double for the Bulldogs, who got four more RBIs from D.J. Jones.

Austin Thomas pitched four innings to sustain the loss for Hayti (2-7, 0-6). He gave up eight earned runs, struck out three and walked one.

Hayti travels to Charleston on Thursday while South Pemiscot is off the field until Monday when it hosts conference rival Caruthersville.

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- The Eagles got a double from Carson Aycock but it was not enough as the Tigers prevailed in the road win.

Coby Hubbert went 5 2/3 innings on the mound to take the loss for East Prairie (9-4). He gave up five runs (four earned) on eight hits, struck out four and walked two.

Taylor Moses pitched five innings to get the win for Caruthersville (7-5). He allowed two earned runs on four hits and tallied five strikeouts and three walks.

David Cook hit a home run, a double and batted in two runs to pace the Tigers at the plate.

Caruthersville visits Holcomb on Thursday while East Prairie travels to Chaffee for a Scott-Mississippi Conference showdown.

__SCAA BASEBALL TOURNAMENT__

BELL CITY, Mo. -- Taylor Ogden hit a single that drove in the walk-off run in the bottom of the eighth inning as the second-seeded Bell City baseball team came away with a 5-4 victory over third-seeded Bloomfield that sent the Cubs to today's championship game of the Stoddard County Activities Association (SCAA) Conference Tournament.

Austin Hicks was checked with the pitching win for Bell City (10-5). He threw a no-hitter and gave up no runs and recorded four strikeouts during two innings of work for the Cubs.

Bell City advanced to the semifinals following a 15-0 shutout of seventh-seeded Richland in the quarterfinals. Hicks recorded a triple and four RBIs to help lead the Cubs to victory while Ogden went the distance on the mound, striking out seven and walking two.

Dalton Phillips went one inning on the mound and gave up the game-winning run to take the loss for Bloomfield. The Wildcats (8-9-1) moved on to the semifinals after an 8-0 victory over sixth-seeded Puxico. Bloomfield will host fifth-seeded Woodland at 4:30 p.m. today for third place. The Cardinals (4-13) fell to top-seeded Bernie 11-1 in a six-inning semifinal following their 7-3 quarterfinal upset over fourth-seeded Advance.

Bell City will take on host Bernie for the tournament championship at 4:30 p.m. today. The Mules (13-2) downed the Cubs 14-6 in a prior meeting on April 4 on the Cubs' home field.

Kaileigh Dirden went the distance in the circle and added two RBIs for Scott City (12-2). She allowed two earned runs and recorded 11 strikeouts and one walk.

Grace Sutton tossed four innings to sustain the loss for East Prairie (10-6). She gave up seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits and had one strikeout and no walks.

Jordan Harper tallied a triple, a double and two RBIs to pace the Eagles.

East Prairie is back on its home field on Thursday with a 4:30 p.m. game scheduled against Risco.

Scott City is slated to host Delta on Thursday.
