Former Sikeston pitcher Doug Still was drafted by the San Francisco Giants during Wednesday's 2017 MLB Draft.
Still, who graduated from Sikeston in 2014, was selected with the 336th overall pick in the 11th round after helping Missouri State to just its third Super Regional berth in school history.
Still was the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Year and an All-MVC first-team selection after posting an 8-3 record with the Bears, who were ousted by TCU in two games during the Super Regional.
Still finished his junior year with a 2.88 ERA, 89 strikeouts and 27 walks in 103 innings.
This is the third time Still has been drafted after the Atlanta Braves took him in 2014 (33rd round) and 2015 (30th round).
