Patton celebrates his 90th birthday

JD Patton was the honoree of a surprise birthday party held at the First Church of God, on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017. The party was hosted by his children and grandchildren. Patton turned 90 on August 30th. The cake displayed several of the many roles he has played through out his life time.

He was overjoyed as the surprise event unfolded and saw several surprise visitors. It was a very special surprise to have his only living sister Lavern, and her daughter, Jean, travel from Arizonia.

He was pleasantly surprised by the appearance of many other guests locally and out of town, too many to mention for fear of leaving someone out. Several out of town guest stayed over and joined him for church service, on Sunday, at JY Church of God, home church to the Patton and LaFerney families.

Following the church service, approximately 35 joined the family for a delicious buffet at Katie's Diner.

JD is a very humble man and was touched by the weekend's occurrence. Thank you to everyone who helped make this weekend special for him and our family.
