BONNE TERRE - Delores Crockett, 74, of Bonne Terre, passed away October 14, 2017, at Country Meadows Nursing Home. She was born on January 13, 1943 in Freedom, Oklahoma to the late Jason and Iola (VanPelt) Welty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Byron Crockett and a son, Jamie Lee Crockett.
Delores was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Park Hills. She loved reading western novels, taking road trips, watching old movies and making jewelry. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture and Art from Southeast Missouri State. She also received her Masters of Science degree in Horticulture from Kansas State.
Delores is survived by three daughters, Terisa Allen and husband John of Bonne Terre, Amy Burdine and husband Aaron of Medina, Ohio, Keri (Crockett) Stegall and husband Steven of Bonne Terre; eight grandchildren, John Patrick, Byron, Jace and Joseph Allen, Kyle and Daniel Burdine, Gavin Crockett and Baylee Roberts; siblings, Beverly Welty Larson, Juanita Welty, Katherin Galieti and Robert Welty..
The family would like to thank everyone who cared for Delores, befriended her, and brought joy to her life through the years.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre on Friday, October 20, 2017, from 11 a.m. until service time of 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Alan Harp officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Dry Bayou Cemetery in Hayti, Missouri. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
