Award-winning yearbook staff

Richland R-1 School's yearbook staff recently received seven awards in the 2017 Yearbook Excellence Contest from Quill & Scroll. Finishing with sweepstakes awards (or the top overall award in the nation) were Emily Blunt, left, with the top Academic Photo and Liza King, right, with the top Sports Action Photo. Editor Kate Wyman, center, displays the entire staff's award for The Blue and Gold Comprehensive Visuals Award, awarded to the staff with the best overall photography in their entire yearbook. Richland also took home four national awards during the contest. Quill & Scroll is an international honorary society for high school journalists and each year hosts one of the largest yearbook competitions in the country.
