EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Velvia Lucille Williams, 96, died March 12, 2018, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.
Born July 13, 1921, in Manila, Ark., daughter of the late John Everett and Birdie Bell Carter Ditto, she had worked as a nurse's aide in Morgan Hill, Calif., where she lived for 64 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and lived in East Prairie and Miner the last 11 years.
In 1938, she married Perry Franklin Williams; he preceded her in death in December 1992.
Survivors include: one sister, Viola Brewer of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two grandchildren, and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Perry Williams Jr.; two daughters, Loretta Williams and Linda Williams; five brothers, Ollie Ditto, Albert Ditto, William Ditto, Goldman Ditto and Earl Ditto; three sisters, Ruth Bollinger, Delia Odum and Merle LaHue; and one granddaughter.
Services will be held at a later date with Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie in charge of arrangements.
