CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Tom Arthur Crawford, 75, died Nov. 3, 2016, at his residence in Charleston. Born Nov. 28, 1940, in the Deventer, to the late Guy Thomas and Bernita Key Crawford, he lived in Mississippi County his entire life. A graduate of Charleston High School, he was employed with the U.S. Postal Service, the Charleston Auction Company and in farming. In 1976 he purchased land in Southern Illinois and began fulfilling his dream of raising cattle. He remained a cattleman until his death...

CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Tom Arthur Crawford, 75, died Nov. 3, 2016, at his residence in Charleston.

Born Nov. 28, 1940, in the Deventer, to the late Guy Thomas and Bernita Key Crawford, he lived in Mississippi County his entire life. A graduate of Charleston High School, he was employed with the U.S. Postal Service, the Charleston Auction Company and in farming. In 1976 he purchased land in Southern Illinois and began fulfilling his dream of raising cattle. He remained a cattleman until his death.

In December 1965, he married Pamela Warren, who survives of Charleston.

Also surviving are: two sons, Thomas Grant Crawford of Charleston and Gregory Crawford of East Prairie; one daughter, Denise Crawford of Bertrand; one brother, Richard Crawford of Charleston; three sisters, Blanche Presson of St. Louis, and Diann Zoellner and Lou Goodall both of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

One son, Gregg Crawford, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Saturday at McMikle Funeral Home. The Rev. Dean Wallace, pastor of the Wyatt Baptist Church, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Brandon King, Robert Carmen, Toby Martin, Darren Haney, Buddy Reeves and Dale Schnarre.
