Melva Moore

DELTA, Mo. -- Melva Joyce Moore, 79, died Dec. 19, 2016, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Jan. 28, 1937, in Cape Girardeau, to the late Melvin and Juanita Pennigton Slinkard, she was a self-employed hairdresser and owner/operator of Joyce's Mobile Beauty Shop in Delta. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Delta.

On Oct. 5, 1957, she married Garnett "Butch" Moore, who preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 2001.

Survivors include: two sons, Stanley Moore and Walter Moore of Delta; two grandsons, Daniel and Zachary Moore of Delta.

She was preceded in death by a son, Roger Moore; a daughter, Rebecca Smith; and a brother, Philip "Laddie" Slinkard.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Delta, where services will be at 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Joe McCullough officiating.

Burial will be at Fairmont Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Chaffee is in charge of arrangements.
