Mary Bornhauser

VAN BUREN, Mo. - Mary Joyce Dukes Bornhauser, 75, died Dec. 28, 2016, at the St. Louis University Hospital, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Born Sept. 13, 1941, in East Prairie, to the late Roy Lee and Arena Atkinson Morgan, she was employed as a CNA for Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was first married to Max Dukes in December of 1976 and he preceded her in death in 1994. She later married Charles "Chuck" Bornhauser, who survives of the home.

Additional survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Michelle Dukes of Sikeston; two daughters and one son-in-law, Lynn and Ron Buzzard of the state of Montana and Melinda Dixon of Sikeston; three brothers, Jerry Morgan and James Morgan, both of the state of California and Jackie and wife, Yvonne, Morgan of Lilbourn; and one sister, Reba Wathen of East Prairie. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Zack Thompson, Tyler Dixon, Sarah Dixon, Amber Dukes, Kelli Dukes and Max Dukes; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Thompson; two brothers, John Morgan and Roy Lee Morgan; and two sisters, Lara Maxine Morgan and Mitzy Boss.

Funeral services will be private, with Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie in charge of arrangements.
