DEXTER, Mo. -- Marvin Ray Wells, 55, died Jan. 3, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born July 23, 1961, in Vincennes, Ind., son of the late Melvin and Mary Leona Wells, he had lived the past seven years in Dexter. He ran a carpet cleaning business and was of the Christian belief.

On Sept. 23, 1974, he married to Alfreda Staley; she preceded him in death in 2005.

Survivors include: his fiancee, Rita House of Dexter; two daughters, Bambi Spade of Dexter and Destiny Wells of Deckard, Ind.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Frederick James Wells.

Services will be conducted at a later date.

Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Dexter is in charge of arrangements.
