DEXTER, Mo. -- Gregory Kent Knutson, son of the late Leo Knutson and Geraldine Flannary Whitler, was born on Oct. 19, 1950, in Evansville, Ind., and departed this life on Jan. 4, 2017, at the emergency room at Southeast Health in Dexter at the age of 66.

Mr. Knutson was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he served in the Vietman War. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter and an employee of Alan Wire in Sikeston, where he was a supervisor.

He was united in marriage to Marla Dambach on Nov. 1, 1991, in Dexter. She survives of the home.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Chris Knutson and wife Diana of Chaffee; one sister, Robin Long of Scopus; and three grandchildren, August Knutson, Mary Beth Knutson and Gracie Knutson.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Lanny Knutson.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter. A rosary prayer service will be conducted at 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church by the Rev. David Dohogne.

Interment will follow at Chalk Bluff Cemetery.

Rainey Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all the arrangements.
