ANNISTON, Mo. - Margaret Thurman, 97, died Jan. 9, 2017, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Feb. 17, 1919, in Caruthersville, to the late Julius Edwin and Anna Hagedorm Hilf, she was employed by Prairie Manufacturing Co. and was a toy department manager at Sikeston Walmart. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church.

In 1943, she married to Cleonard "Red" Thurman, who preceded her in death in 1991.

Survivors include: two sons, Robert "Bob" Thurman of Anniston and Charles "Bud" Thurman of East Prairie; one daughter, Sharon Howard of Anniston; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and one granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Christian Church of Anniston with Steve Johnson, pastor of the Victory Baptist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Anniston Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: David Whybark, John Whybark, Tyler Whybark, Ethan Gregory, Johnny Tatum and Todd Garner.
