FESTUS, Mo. -- Sam Livingston Butler, 91, died Jan. 17, 2017, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.
Born March 19, 1925, in Cullman, Ala., son of the late Samuel and Bessie Butler, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II.
On June 18, 1943, in New Madrid, he married Rosalie "Rose" Phillips, and she survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Samuel Phillip and Donna Butler III of Bloomsdale; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and George Butler Kirk of Casevyville, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Malinta Butler; two brothers, Arthur Butler and Marvin Butler; and one sister, Esma Killion.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Saturday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville. The Rev. Ron Sutton and Ryan Sutton will officiate.
