Lavern Richards

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. - Lavern Lillian (Grigsby) Perrin Richards, 94, died Feb. 14, 2017, at Sikeston Convalescent Center in Sikeston.

Born Aug. 3, 1922, in Arkansas to the late Walter and Veda (Berry) Grigsby, she was of the Church of Christ faith and had worked for Brown Shoe Company in Pocahontas, Ark., before retiring.

She was married to Johnnie Laverne Perrin, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by: one daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie Sue and Don Baker of Pocahontas, Ark.; one brother, Kenneth Grigsby of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Emma Jean (Grigsby) Ivie of East Prairie; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Graveside services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday at Old Union Cemetery near Pocahontas.
