Nana Forbey
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Elizabeth "Nana" Bethune Forbey, 92, formerly of Charleston, died April 22, 2017, at The Bluffs in Columbia.
Born March 14, 1925 in Bertrand, the daughter of the late William and Lulie Spencer Bethune, she graduated high school in Diehlstadt and lived in several cities throughout Missouri.
On Dec. 13, 1947, in Blodgett, she married F. M. Forbey Jr., who preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 2001.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Forbey of Independence and Julie Rowden (Rick) of Columbia; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters, Charles Bethune, Cecil Lee (Dick) Bethune, Phinas Bethune, Ora Bethune, Gertrude Bethune, Willie Watson, Gene Bethune, Spencer Bethune and Lucille Carr.
There is no visitation.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the IOOF Cemetery in Charleston, under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston.
A celebration of her life at is planned for 3 p.m. May 6 at the C2 Church (Christian Chapel) in Columbia.
