SIKESTON - Rena Mae Stewart, 77, formerly of New Orleans, La., died May 26, 2017, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born May 12, 1940, in Wiggins, Miss., to the late Andrew Jackson Fairley and Alice Logan Fairley, she was an entrepreneur, office worker and housekeeper. After being displaced by Hurricane Katrina, she moved to Sikeston, where she was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church.

In 1969, she married William Love Stewart, who preceded her in death in 1992.

Survivors include: one son, Gregory V. Bell of New Orleans; two daughters and one son-in-law, Felicia Stewart of New Orleans and Deborah and Robert Casey of Snellville, Ga.; five brothers, Jesse Dewitt "J.D." Fairley of New Orleans, Master Sgt. Addison "Buddy" Fairley of Sacramento, Calif., Millard "Bruce" Fairley of Alexandria, La., Vaughn Wendell Fairley of Oakdale, La,, and Master Sgt. Kenneth Fairley of Lawton, Okla.; three sisters, Marjorie Fairley Slaughter and Alice Fay Fairley of Chicago and Della Mae Fairley Hempton of D'iberville, Miss.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services at noon Wednesday at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston with Richard Lee, pastor, officiating.

The Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
