Juanita Newsome

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Juanita Newsome, 87, died June 5, 2017, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.

Born Dec. 13, 1929, in Hickman, Ky., to the late Henry and Nellie Everett, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of East Prairie.

On Sept. 29, 1946, in Corinth, Miss., she married James Newsome, who preceded her in death on April 12, 1987.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Jim Bob and Sandy Newsome of Crawfordville, Ark.; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Eddie Norton of Ripley, Miss.; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Mance Everett and George Everett; and four sisters, Nellie Everett, Ethel Tinnon, Evie Ogden and Emmie Williams.

Visitation will be from at 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie with George White officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
