SIKESTON -- Rosemary Newman, 58, formerly of East Prairie, died July 31, 2017, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born March 18, 1959, in Wyatt, to the late James and Shirley Hunt Poore, she was employed by Miner Nursing Home.

On Oct. 5, 1979, in East Prairie, she married Mike Newman, who survives of the home.

In addition to her husband, survivors include: one son, Michael Newman of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Natish and Matt Watkins of Sikeston; one brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Sara Poore of Charleston; and one sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda and David Abner of East Prairie; and eight grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Rodney Poore, and a brother who died in infancy.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie with Frank Worthington, pastor of the Compassion Church in Sikeston, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: David Abner, Billy Newman, Matt Watkins, Robert Scheffer, James Newman and Bryan Alexander.
