Roy Leon Day

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Roy Leon Day, 69, died Oct. 15, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Jan. 5, 1948, in Henderson Mounds, he was the son of Geneva Jackson Day and the late Calvin Day.

On Feb. 5, 1965, he married Shirley Flowers, who preceded him in death on Dec. 28, 2015.

Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Mike Wallace of East Prairie; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Frankie and Julie (Summers) Day and Christopher and Julie Day of East Prairie, Jeffrey Day of Matthews and Greg Day of Sikeston; two brothers, Dennis Day of Matthews and Danny Day of Sikeston; five sisters, Jo Ann Stockman and Carmel Norman of Sikeston, Retta Baggett of Matthews, Wanda Waldron of Boise, Idaho and Rhoda Moore of Symsonia, Ky.; and 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Martin Lucas officiating.

Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.

Pallbearers will be: Greg Day, Dennis Day, Danny Day, Frankie Day, Chris Day and Johnny Jackson.
