PUXICO, Mo. -- Ruth A. Doublin, 78, died Nov. 11, 2017 at the Puxico Nursing
and Rehabilitation Center in Puxico.
Born March 27, 1939, near Bloomfield, daughter of the late Wilber Fortner and Glena Atherton Fortner, she was a longtime resident and businesswoman in Puxico. A graduate of Bloomfield High School, she worked in St. Louis before settling in Puxico.she served as an EMT for the Stoddard County Ambulance Service in Puxico and as treasurer and board Member of the Puxico School Board. She and her husband owned Lynn Gas Company and B & M Auto Parts and Supplies for over 40 years.
On April 18, 1958, she married Jack Doublin, who survives.
Other survivors include: two daughters and a son-in-law, Dana and Mark McCallister of Qulin and Paula Doublin of Allen, Texas; and one grandson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her sister, Annis Fortner.
Visitation is from noon until service time at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. The Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Puxico Cemetery.
