LILBOURN, Mo. -- James Vincent "JV" Robinson, 84, died Nov. 29, 2017, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Born March 12, 1933, near Lilbourn, to the late Simon Peter and Mamie Jeannette Johnson Robinson, he worked as a farmer and later a pump inspector for The Missouri Department of Agriculture Division of Weights and Measures. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Madrid, Missouri and Knights of Columbus, and was an avid Coon Hunter with the best dogs in Southeast Missouri.

On Oct. 13, 1955, he married Barbara Nix Robinson who survives of the home.

He is also survived by one son, Peter Glenn Robinson of Lilbourn; one daughter and son-in-law, Janie (Robert) Cunningham of New Madrid; one sister, Mary Cundiff, Collinsville, Ill.; five grandchildren, Alicia ( Caleb) Powell, Sarah Henderson, Leslie (Kelly) Spears, Emily (Shabaz) Qalbani and James Robinson; and seven great-grandchildren, Kelly Spears II, Hannah Spears, Alex Henderson, Connor Henderson, Nick Henderson, Dayna Spears and Galen Qalbani.

One son, James Lynn Robinson; one granddaughter, Melissa Robinson; two sisters; and two brothers preceded James in death.

Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, from 5 p.m. until 8. p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Madrid with Father Jarek officiating.

Burial will follow at Mounds Cemetery in Lilbourn.
