MATTHEWS, Mo. -- Aubry Ray Gardner, 72, of Matthews, died Dec. 3, 2017, at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau of natural causes.
He leaves his wife of 52 years, Wanda (Middleton) Gardner; two sons, Jeff (Beth) Gardner of Matthews and Kenny (Kelly) Gardner of Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Wendy Gardner of Matthews; one sister, Linda (Gardner) Ramsey of Sikeston; four half sisters, Gloria Gardner, Lois Gardner Dickerson, Betty Gardner Croney and Yvonne Gardner Gross, all of Sikeston; and his second stepmother, Willa Gardner of Circle City. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Teya, Brandi, Kasey, Jamie, Dakota, Vivian, Hunter of Matthews and Eann and Owen of Cape Girardeau; and two great-grandchildren, Tanner and Lucy of Matthews; and many close friends.
He was born Aug. 24, 1945, in Benton Harbor, Mich., to the late Roy Wesley and Alberta Garland Gardner Sr. He owned the Gardner Service garage in Matthews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Auda May Gardner; one brother, Leroy; his stepmother, Joanne Chadd; and one half brother, Michael Allen Gardner.
Memorial is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 16 from 1-3 p.m. at Matthew Church of Christ, 302 Highway H, Matthews.
