Evelyn Swiney

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Evelyn Swiney, 85, formerly of Sikeston, died Dec. 15, 2017, at the Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born May 5, 1932, in Lepanto, Ark., daughter of the late Hubert and Ruth (Jines) Freshour, she was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ.

On Aug. 18, 1951, she married Billy Swiney; he preceded her in death on June 12, 2012.

In addition to her husband and parents, one sister preceded her in death.

Survivors include: two sons, Billy Swiney Jr. of Poplar Bluff and Phillip Swiney of Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Pamela Richardson of Horn Lake, Miss.; and six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mounds Park Cemetery in Lilbourn. Adam Noles will officiate.

Ponder Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
