Boss Woodard

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Otis Edward "Boss" Woodard, 85, died Jan. 15, 2018, at his home.

Born March 17, 1932, in East Prairie, son of the late Joe and Addie Britt Woodard, he was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He had been employed as a custodian at East Prairie High School and also was the owner of Woodard's Floor Service. He was of Baptist belief.

Survivors include: his former wife, Jo Ann Woodard; one daughter, Marla Woodard of East Prairie; and one brother, Ben Woodard of California.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl Woodard, Bub Woodard and Odean Woodard; and two sisters, Genieva Hockersmith and Frances Givens.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday with Jon Archie, pastor of Elm Street Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Larry Britt, Jerry Britt, Harold Bays, Gene Ditto, Freddie Portwood and Jim Blumenburg.
