DEXTER, Mo. -- Walter Marsh Watkins, 89, died Jan. 18, 2018, at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter. Born Sept. 10, 1928, in Cash, Ark., son of the late Earl L. and Eunice Ellene Marsh Watkins, he had lived in Cash before moving to Missouri. DEXTER, Mo. -- Walter Marsh Watkins, 89, died Jan. 18, 2018, at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter.

Born Sept. 10, 1928, in Cash, Ark., son of the late Earl L. and Eunice Ellene Marsh Watkins, he had lived in Cash before moving to Missouri. He owned and operated Watkins and Sons Funeral Home until retirement. He was a member of the Dexter Rotary Club.

On July 9, 1946, he married Bobbie Stanfield, who preceded him in death on Nov. 6, 1964. Then on March 10, 1983, he married Dixie White, who preceded him in death on Feb. 11, 2016.

He was also preceded in death by four sons, Bill, Rick, Rob and John Kevin

Watkins and stepdaughter, Kim Morgan.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Angela Watkins of Dexter; two stepsons and their spouses, Joel and Jamie Dodd of Benicia, Calif., and Brian and Chery Dodd of Bernie; one brother, Ike Watkins of Dexter; and 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Saturday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Burial will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter.
