CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- Sybil Pearl Harper Lawrence, 101, formerly of Dexter, died Jan. 20, 2018, at her home in Cape Girardeau.

Born Sept. 20, 1916, in Idalia, daughter of the late Samuel Allen and Myrtie Mae Lincoln Harper, she had lived in the Dexter area most of her life and was a member of the Risen Church in Dexter.

On Dec. 21, 1935, in Bloomfield, she married James Arvell Lawrence, who preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1998.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, John Harper; and five sisters, Madge Eaton, Mildred Hutchinson, Hattie Nottingham, Blanche Avery, Edna Hellman.

Survivors include: one daughter, Helen Triplett of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Bessie Morlan of Bloomfield and Marian Akins of Hoover, Ala.; one granddaughter, Kathy Lambdin of Cape Girardeau; and three great-grandsons and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter with the Rev. Steve Tippen of Dexter officiating.

Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery at Bloomfield.
