June Nelson

NEW MADRID, Mo. -- Juanita June Jones Nelson, 86, died Jan. 21, 2018, Capetown Assisting Living Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born June 4, 1931, in New Madrid County, she was the daughter of the late Louis Daniel and May Henry Jones.

Her husband, Stanley Nelson, preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Louis Jones; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Jones.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Sue Higgerson of Springfield and Ronald and Cindy Higgerson of Davidson, Mich.; two grandsons, Drew and Lacey Higgerson of Clarkston, Mich., and Keegan Higgerson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Burial will follow in the Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
