BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- Robert G. "Bob" Snow Sr., 81, died Oct. 21, 2016, at Sears Manor. Born April 11, 1935, in Kewanee, Mo., to the late William Allen and Ada Mae Cates Snow, he was a 1953 graduate of Kewanee High School. BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- Robert G. "Bob" Snow Sr., 81, died Oct. 21, 2016, at Sears Manor.

Born April 11, 1935, in Kewanee, Mo., to the late William Allen and Ada Mae Cates Snow, he was a 1953 graduate of Kewanee High School. In May 1956, he joined the United States Navy and retired as a commander after 39 years of service. He was an F-8 Crusader Corsair fighter pilot and served two tours in Vietnam. He later worked as an agent with Independent Life Insurance, owned and operated Thig's Pig Hickory House, managed Pizza Inn, worked for Culligan Water and owned and operated Snow's Water Systems. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Glynn County Supper Club and B.P.O. Elks 691.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Holland Snow of Brunswick; his children, Robert G. "Robbie" Snow Jr., Brian K. Snow, Jamie Snow (Alicia) of Brunswick, Holly Gentry (Mike) of Jacksonville, and Wally Snow (Allison) of St. Simmons Island; one brother, Joe Snow; one sister, Betty Snow Phillips; and nine grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilburn Andrew Snow, Milburn Allen Snow and Bill Snow; and four sisters, Iolla Nae Farrenburg, Jessie Sparks, Vivian Roberson and Mary Chism.

Services were conducted Oct. 29 at Chapman Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim McIlratch officiating.

Burial with full military honors followed in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Ray Lloyd, Kipp Branch, George Warren, Brad Walker, Jim Mock and Rod Oberly. Honorary pallbearers were: Bruce Vanderbeck, Jack Moran, Dr. James Greene, Jerry Middleton, Derrick Hulsey.
