Benny Cohen Sr.

SIKESTON -- Benny Lee Cohen Sr., 87, died Dec. 7, 2016, at Hunter Acres Caring Center in Sikeston.

Born May 9, 1929, in Sikeston, son of the late James and Florence Cooper Cohen, he served in the Army Air Force. He worked for United Ridge Farms until his retirement.

On May 8, 1954, he married Doris "Faye" Anditon, who preceded him in death on Jan.19, 1997.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Debbie Cohen; one sister, Ruby Cohen Tolbert; and three brothers, John Cohen, Francis Cohen and Elvis Cohen.

Survivors include: four sons and two daughters-in-law, Benny and Patricia Cohen Jr. of Bloomfield, David Cohen of Diehlstadt and Michael Cohen and Brian and Holly Cohen of Sikeston; three daughters and one son-in-law, Ann Grindstaff of Cape Girardeau, Wanda Cohen Raucci of Auburn, Wash., Sherry and Billy Dozier of Miner; two sisters, Betty Cohen Hobson and Beulah Cohen Delanis of Chicago; and 16 grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 12:30 p.m. until time of memorial service at 1 p.m. Friday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.

Inurnment will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with military rites provided by the Missouri Military Honor Guard.
