Bobby Phillips
BENTON, Mo. -- Bobby Gene Phillips, 40, died Jan. 25, 2017, at his home.
Born Aug. 13, 1976, in Cape Girardeau, to James Phillips of Benton and Carla Walter Phillips Ray of Oran, he was a welder with Viking -- Cives Midwest in Morley. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1995-1999, he was a member of Oran First Baptist Church and a volunteer fireman with the Oran Fire Department.
On Sept. 14, 2002, he married Melonie Ann Wehmeyer, and she survives of the home.
In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include: a son, Isaac Phillips of Benton; a daughter, Sarah Phillips of Benton; three brothers, James Phillips of Glenallen, Kelly Phillips of Oran and Kenneth Ray of St. Louis; two sisters Cathryn Gramlisch of Randles and Leslie Chapman of Evansville, Ind.; his stepfather, Benny Ray of Oran; and his stepmother, Tammy Phillips of Benton.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran with the Rev. David Thompson officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow at 3 p.m. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
