SIKESTON -- Mary I. Stalcup, 87, died at 7:07 p.m. Jan. 28, 2017, at her sister's home in Sikeston. Born Jan. 19, 1930, at Hunterville, daughter of the late Clarence and Laudie (Garner) Chapman, she was a member of Eastside Nazarene Church. On April 14, 1951, she married Raymond L. SIKESTON -- Mary I. Stalcup, 87, died at 7:07 p.m. Jan. 28, 2017, at her sister's home in Sikeston.

Born Jan. 19, 1930, at Hunterville, daughter of the late Clarence and Laudie (Garner) Chapman, she was a member of Eastside Nazarene Church.

On April 14, 1951, she married Raymond L. Stalcup; they were married for almost 50 years before he preceded her in death Jan. 2, 2001.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Pete Chapman, Bud Chapman and Donnie Chapman; and her precious dog, Missy.

Survivors include: one sister and brother-in-law, Connie and James Reece of Sikeston; June King who was like a sister to her; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and all of their families.

Friends may call Tuesday, Jan. 31 from 5 p.m. until time of funeral services at 7 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Ken Johnson, chaplain with Tri County Hospice, will officiate.

Committal services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Johnson officiating.

Pallbearers will be: Harold Chapman, Michael Chapman, Carl Bogle, Allen Lancaster, Lee Brown and James Figley.
