NEW MADRID, Mo. -- Thelma Jean Allred Masterson, 72, of New Madrid, died Feb. 10, 2017, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, with loving family by her side. Born to the late Albert Lee and Edna Odessia "Morris" Allred of Lilbourn on Oct. 20, 1944, she grew up in Lilbourn and graduated from high school there. ...

NEW MADRID, Mo. -- Thelma Jean Allred Masterson, 72, of New Madrid, died Feb. 10, 2017, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, with loving family by her side.

Born to the late Albert Lee and Edna Odessia "Morris" Allred of Lilbourn on Oct. 20, 1944, she grew up in Lilbourn and graduated from high school there. Following graduation, she joined the United States Army. She was a member of New Madrid American Legion Brown Twitty Post 595 and also VFW Women's Auxiliary in Lilbourn. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

On June 20, 1969, she married Frank Masterson Sr. of New Madrid.

Thelma is survived by her loving husband, Frank; one son, Frank Masterson Jr.; one granddaughter, Kaitlynn Marie Masterson; and one grandson, Konner Anthony Masterson of New Madrid; five brothers and their wives, Hubert and Delores Allred of Sikeston, Douglas and Peggy Allred of Marston, Jerry and Carolyn Allred of Bowling Green, Ky., Albert and Betty Allred of Lilbourn, Harold and Charlotte Allred of New Madrid; a sister, Naomi Peeler of Lilbourn; three sisters and their husbands, Carolyn and Bill Taylor, Vickey and Jimmy McCain of Lilbourn and Joy and Robert Hayes of Marston.

She was preceded in death by her Dad and Mom; two nephews, William Lynn Householder and Albert Allen Allred II.

The family are following Thelma's wishes, therefore, there will not be any type of service.

Richards Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
