COLUMBUS, Ohio - Lee Ernest Stevens, 66, formerly of Haywood City, Mo., died Feb. 7, 2017, in Columbus.
Born Oct. 30, 1950, in Macon, Mo., to the late John Henry and Mary Alice Stevens, he graduated from Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff with a degree in education, and he also earned degrees in counseling and divinity from Triune Biblical University. He attended Genoa Baptist Church in Westerville, Ohio. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was employed by The Strategy Group and retired from the State of Ohio Department of Insurance after 20 years of service.
He survived by his wife, Maryellen; children, Melissa, Leland, Lee, Stephanie(Reginald), Kristina and Daniel; siblings, Henry Earl, Evelyn and Mack; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon Friday at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Sikeston. The Rev. Alex Sims will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors with the Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston in charge of arrangements.
