Robert Strayhorn Sr.

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. - Robert Lee Strayhorn Sr., 51, died March 10, 2017, at his home.

Born Jan. 2, 1966, in Wolf Island, to Roy Strayhorn of East Prairie and the late Vada "Doll" Porter Strayhorn, he lived in East Prairie most of his life. A farm worker, he was a former member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his father, he is survived by one son, Robert Lee Strayhorn Jr. of Florida; five daughters, April Tipler of Charleston, Sumnar Strayhorn of Grove, Texas, Shalonda Strayhorn of Beaumont, Texas, Jesse Strayhorn of Salem, Ill., and Rodele Clark of East Prairie; six brothers, Jimmy Strayhorn of South Haven, Miss., Patrick Strayhorn of East Prairie, Anthony Strayhorn of Paducah, Ky., Jose Strayhorn of Atlanta, Ga., Gregorio Strayhorn of Joplin and Quinton Strayhorn of Charleston; one sister, Brianna Strayhorn of Charleston; four granddaughters; and a special friend, Adele "Bunny" Clark of East Prairie.

Visitation will be from noon until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday, at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston with the Rev. Sylvester Davis officiating.
