SIKESTON - Monroe Boston Davis Sr., 76, died July 24, 2017, at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Born June 30, 1941, in Sikeston, to the late Sherman and Lula (Williams) Davis, he was an ordained pastor and was pastor of the House of Refuge COGIC in Sikeston. SIKESTON - Monroe Boston Davis Sr., 76, died July 24, 2017, at the Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born June 30, 1941, in Sikeston, to the late Sherman and Lula (Williams) Davis, he was an ordained pastor and was pastor of the House of Refuge COGIC in Sikeston. A graduate of Sikeston High School, he was a former employee with Boyer Construction and with Firestone in Sikeston. He later co-owned and operated Davis-Moore Construction Co. and also operated a trash pickup service.

He was married to Ora L. Davis, who preceded him in death. He later married Barbara (Aldridge), who survives of the home.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Tawanda (Andrew) Bell and Pearl Fields; two sons, Tony Davis and Tephone Davis; two brothers, Johnny Davis and Willie Davis; two sisters, Althea McWilliams and Jeannie Taylor; his stepmother, Jane Foster; five stepchildren, Kim Linam, Regina Fly, Ozell Corley Jr., Odell Corley and Kenya Corley; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by four sons, Ivory Davis, Riley Davis, Kenneth Ray Davis and Monroe Davis Jr.; one daughter, Ora Mae Washington; three brothers, Percy Davis, Lewis Davis and Charles Davis; and a sister, Nova Cole.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of services at noon Saturday at the Green Memorial Church of God in Christ. Bishop Robert Strong will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston under the direction of Driver Funeral Service.
