DESOTO, Mo. -- Officer Mark Hagen, 55, of Desoto, formerly of Sikeston, died Aug. 8, 2017, at Mercy Jefferson Hospital in Crystal City.
Officer Hagen worked for Dyna Corp. (International Narcotics Law Enforcement) where he served in Afghanistan for four years. He started his law enforcement career in 1985 with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety where he worked for 20 years to the rank of lieutenant. He then went to work for Jefferson County Sheriff's Department and Hillsboro Police Department. His career had spanned over 32 years. He also loved to fish, hunt, play golf and watch sports. He got to watch his beloved Chicago Cubs win the World Series.
Born May 12, 1962, he was the son of the late Donald Hagen, formerly of Britton, S.D., and the late Juanita Brown, formerly of Sikeston.
He was preceded in death by both parents; and two brothers, Donald Hagen and Richard Hagen, both formerly of Sikeston.
He is survived by his wife, Dixie Hagen of Desoto; four sons, Shilo (Ashley) Guthrie of Sikeston, Wayne (Jennifer) Guthrie of Sikeston, Wyatt (Ryan) Guthrie of Kansas City and Zed (Amina) Hagen of Rhode Island; one daughter, Lauren (Jon) Wells of Washington state; nine grandchildren, Rylee, Iman, Shyanne, Izzah, Cali, Ibraham, Asher and Rexon; one brother, Jim (Ann) Hagen of Deadwood, S.D.; and one sister, Vangie (Jimmy) Jones of Sikeston.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Jaycee Rodeo Barn in Sikeston.
