Albert Rolwing Jr.
CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Albert Edward Rolwing Jr., 63, died Dec. 12, 2017, near Charleston.
Born May 17, 1954, at Cairo, Ill., to Mary Jo Walker Rolwing of Charleston and the late Albert Edward "Bert" Rolwing, he was raised in Charleston where he was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church and a 1972 graduate of Charleston High School. He moved to Texas where he trained cutting horses in Terrell, Texas, for the past 30 years. A member of the National Cutting Horse Association, over the course of his career he won many championships and received national recognition, also winning the Masters in Europe award. While living in Terrell, he had attended the St. John Catholic Church.
On Nov. 4, 1977, he married Claudia Jean Kirkpatrick, who survives of the home in Charleston.
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Jason Todt of Oran; one brother, Larry Rolwing of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Diane Newcomb of Miner and Paulette Lenderman and Cindy Cole of Sikeston.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Marie Rolwing Bryant.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time for the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Henry Catholic Church in Charleston. His uncle, Monsignor Richard Rolwing, will serve as celebrant.
Private family burial will follow under the direction of the McMikle Funeral Home.
