Portageville adds talent show to Soybean Festival
Event is Sept. 26
PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. -The 69th Annual National Soybean Festival will host its first-ever taken show.
The "Soybean Festival Talent Show" is scheduled from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sept. 26 on Main Street stage.
Sponsored by the Portageville Chamber of Commerce, organizers are looking for singers, impersonators, instrumentalists, comedians, dancers, ventriloquists and jugglers. Those planning to perform should bring their own music, instruments and props.
There is no entry fee. Registration forms are available at Heartland Tax or New Madrid County Library located in downtown Portageville.
"This will be the first year to have such an event built into the annual Soybean Festival week, according to Joy Partin, event committee member. "We have never had anything on Monday night, and thought this would be a good thing to do."
There will be prizes for first, second and third places and food vendors will be available.
