BENTON, Mo. -- A suspect is in custody following an investigation of four burglaries in Scott County.
Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said he made contact with four burglary victims Wednesday in Scott County. One suspect is in custody for the burglaries with possible ties to numerous other burglaries in various jurisdictions, he said, adding some of the stolen merchandise has been recovered.
Sikeston Department of Public Safety, Mississippi County Sheriff's Department, Charleston Department of Public Safety and New Madrid County Sheriff's Department are working together with Scott County on this investigation.
