DEXTER, Mo. -- A Dexter, Mo., sex offender was arrested Friday on new charges involving a child less than 14 years old.
David William Madsen, 40, was booked at Stoddard County Jail on a warrant for first degree statutory rape. There is no bond.
Madsen is a registered sex offender from two 1999 convictions in Clearwater, Fla., of lewd and lascivious behavior with a 14-year-old girl, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
He was arrested by Dexter Police Department, but detectives were not available Saturday to speak on the case.
Stoddard County Judge Joe Satterfield issued an order Friday that seals the probable cause statement in the case. The document is a Level 3 confidential court record, according to Missouri Case.net records.
"This is necessary in the court's opinion because there is a continuing ongoing investigation in the matter and the alleged victim is a minor child and the statement contains detailed, graphic descriptions of alleged sexual offense(s) against the minor chid," Satterfield's order states.
"In addition, some of the identifying information in the statement cannot be redacted."
A warrant for Madsen was also issued Friday.
The complaint and probable cause statement were filed by Stoddard County Prosecuting Attorney Russ Oliver.
No attorney is listed for Madsen on court documents.
According to the MSHP, he was released from prison on his previous charges in 2008.
