Martha Gladney

WACO, Texas — Martha Mae Henderson Gladney, 81, died May 3, 2018.

Born May 27, 1936, in Memphis, Tenn., daughter of the late Carrie Thompson and Lewis Eckles II, she spent most of her adult life in Sikeston. She was a member of St. John Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and on the usher board and senior citizen committee for many years. She later moved to Waco, where she was a member of Carver Park Baptist Church.

Her husband, Willie “Bill” Gladney, survives of the home.

Other survivors include: her children, James Brown of Medford, Ore., Ethel Timms, Minnie Henderson, Tonika Henderson and Ranika Henderson of Waco, Ann Henderson of Houston, Willie Henderson of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Nathaniel Henderson of Houston.

She was also preceded in death by two sons; Willie Brown and John D. Henderson; and her six siblings.

Services are planned in Waco.
