At 9:41 a.m., officers with Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to a two-vehicle accident at Pine/Colonel George E. Day streets in Sikeston, according to DPS reports. A preliminary investigation indicates the woman failed to yield as she was traveling northbound on Brunt Boulevard, said Lt. Austin Henley with Sikeston DPS. According to a witness, the woman failed to stop and hit a delivery truck, which was traveling eastbound on Colonel George E. Day Boulevard, just behind the passenger side door. The 29-year-old female driver was flown to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. An infant who was in the female’s vehicle was transported to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston for treatment.
