SIKESTON — A Sikeston woman faces felony burglary and other misdemeanor charges in Scott County.
Tammy L. Tabaka, 29, is charged with felony first-degree burglary and misdemeanor stealing of less than $150 (and no prior stealing offenses) and misdemeanor fourth-degree domestic assault (first or second offense), according to online court records.
At 12:17 p.m. Sunday, officers with Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to the 300 block of Heath Street where the victim said his ex-girlfriend broke into his house while he was sleeping, according to Lt. Austin Henley with Sikeston DPS. While the woman, who was later identified as Tabaka, was in the home, the victim told police she took his cell phone from the residence and went out to her car. The victim said he went out to the car to try to get his property back. Tabaka allegedly pointed a can of pepper spray at him and said she would spray him, and then she left the scene. The victim then called the police and detectives responded to the scene. They were able to locate Tabaka and take her into custody. All the property was recovered.
Bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety and as of Tuesday, she remained in the Scott County Jail.
