Every Missouri Lottery ticket sold helps benefit education programs, which could not be accomplished without the more than 4,600 Lottery retailers throughout the state. Each year, the Lottery seeks to recognize the exceptional retail locations that exceeded expectations and generated more money for public education.
“The Million Dollar Club is an elite group of the retail locations that each sold more than $1 million in Lottery tickets during a given year,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery. “The 2017 Club is comprised of 67 retail locations that went above and beyond.”
One of those retailers is Car-Mac’s, 85 State Highway O, in Holland.
“This is the seventh year in a row that Car-Mac’s has earned a spot in the Million Dollar Club. In fact, based on their sales during the past seven years, Car-Mac’s has generated more than $3.7 million for public education,” said Reardon.
In celebration of their achievement, Reardon said that Car-Mac’s received a Lottery-hosted customer appreciation event on May 2.
“This event allows us to celebrate Car-Mac’s achievement with their customers,” said Reardon.
To date, Lottery sales have generated more than $5.9 billion for the state and public education programs. In the most recent fiscal year, public education programs in Pemiscot County received more than $211,000 million in funding.
