Richard Jones Sr.
NEW MADRID, Mo. — Richard James Jones Sr., 74, died May 4, 2018, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital.
Born March 30, 1944, in Lamar, Miss., he was the son of the late Ethel Lou Campbell Shepard and Jack Jones Sr.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, James Edward Dye; and two sisters, Willie Mae Owens and Dorothy Grissom.
Survivors include: six daughters, Carolyn Craig and her husband Willie of Mason, Ohio, Dianne Jones and Colleen Jones of Toledo, Ohio, Rita Jones of New Madrid and Marva Drake and Yulonda Drake of Kennett; seven sons, Richard J. Jones Jr. and his wife Cheryl of Detroit, Kareem Jones of Toledo, Kenneth Buchanan and his wife Zianna and Michael Jordan Jones of Jacksonville, Fla., R-Paris Jones of New Madrid, Justin Jennings of Portageville and Ricky Lee Griffin of Chicago; two brothers, Jack Jones Jr. of New Madrid and James Earl Shepherd of Earl, Ark.; a sister, Zelnora Brown of Howardville; and 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Saturday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville. The Rev. Earl Grissom and Richard James Jones Jr. will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
