SIKESTON — For seven straight years, BJ’s Kwik Shop, 905 S. Main St. in Sikeston, has earned membership into the Missouri Lottery’s Million Dollar Club – an elite group of retail locations that each sold more than $1 million in product during the previous year.

“The Missouri Lottery and the state of Missouri are lucky to have BJ’s Kwik Shop as a partner in generating more money for public education,” said May Scheve Reardon, executive director of the Missouri Lottery.

BJ’s Kwik Shop is among 67 retail locations – the most ever – from across the state that are being welcomed into the 2017 Million Dollar Club.

“Based on their performance over the past seven years, BJ’s Kwik Shop has generated more than $2.1 million for public education programs like A+ Scholarships and Special Education Excess Costs,” said Reardon. “Their management and employees should be proud of their accomplishments.”

To celebrate their achievement, the Missouri Lottery recently hosted an on-site customer appreciation event where an official certificate was presented.

To date, Lottery sales have generated more than $6 billion for the state and public education, an effort that could not be accomplished without more than 4,600 retail locations statewide.

In the most recent fiscal year, public education programs in Scott County received more than $457,000 in funding.
