ORAN, Mo. — Viola Marie Dirnberger, 96, died June 7, 2018, at Chateau Girardeau. Born Sept. 22, 1921, in Oran, daughter of the late Albert and Rosalia Welter Dannenmueller, she was a homemaker and member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran. She was a member of St. Ann Sodality. For many years, she was the lead cook at the Fourth of July dinners at the Oran KC’s annual picnic and many weddings...

ORAN, Mo. — Viola Marie Dirnberger, 96, died June 7, 2018, at Chateau Girardeau.

Born Sept. 22, 1921, in Oran, daughter of the late Albert and Rosalia Welter Dannenmueller, she was a homemaker and member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran. She was a member of St. Ann Sodality. For many years, she was the lead cook at the Fourth of July dinners at the Oran KC’s annual picnic and many weddings.

On Sept. 24, 1940, she married Robert Frank Dirnberger, who preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 1972.

Survivors include: two sons, Kenneth (Akiko) Dirnberger of The Villages, Fla.; Butch (Cathy) Dirnberger of Oran; a daughter, Brenda Bollinger of Oakville; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Dirnberger of Oran; a brother, Alfred Dannenmueller of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a sister, Bertha Lloyd of St. Charles; and 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Dirnberger; a daughter-in-law, Carole Dirnberger; two brothers, Cornelius and Leroy Dannenmueller; and four sisters, Velma Eftink, Lavanna LeGrand, Ella and Mary Ann Dannenmueller.

Visitation is after 4 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Rosary will be at 4 p.m. followed by KC Prayers. 

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Guardian Angel Catholic Church with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating.

Burial will be at Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Oran.
